Photon Ink has an opportunity for Mechanical Engineer with 3+ years of experience located in Rancho Cordova. This position offers no health benefits.

Photon Ink is a product development company (<100 employees) specializing in the design of medical devices with an emphasis on optical systems. We design and prototype LED lighting equipment with the ability to manufacture in-house. We are seeking an enthusiastic team member who is innovative, works independently and enjoys a fast-paced, yet casual working environment. Position Overview: This is a moderately-supervised position with hands-on and active responsibilities. The ME shall utilize his or her skills and knowledge to design (mechanical/electrical/thermal), provide documentation, prototype (in house CNC) and pre-production phases.

Essential Duties and Qualifications:

• Mechanical Design

• CAD: Creo or Solidworks

• Injection mold part design

• Test & Experiments

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• 3-5 years hands-on design experience

• Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions from groups or managers.

• Ability to provide engineering support for production and maintenance activities to ensure maximum production.

• Ability to attain and maintain state of the art knowledge of all company technology product and industry trends.

• Ability to investigate problems, analyze root causes and derive resolutions.

• Strong listening, oral and written communication skills, ability to motivate.

• Able to plan, direct and delegate work to others.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability.

• Working knowledge in manufacturing processes validations, equipment inspection, root cause analysis and statistical process control principles,
